The Gift...

When my mother passed away last week I learned she had given me a wonderful gift. It's the gift of freedom, of possibilities, of pursuing my dreams again...My precious, frugal mother left me enough money to start over, to make a secure and comfortable home for my girls, to let me finish my education and maybe even do a round or two of IVF...we shall see. I'm in awe of the doors she has opened to me and I'm so grateful...I wish I could tell her.

  2. What an amazing gift! I know that you would rather have your mother back to tell her. . . I bet she knows how your feeling and how freeing her planning and foresight is for you.

  8. Isn't that just what a mother would do? Everything in her power to make her child's life a better one. xxx

  9. When Peter's grandmother passed, due to some of the circumstances, she left a small inheritance that allowed us to pay off student loans/bills and gave us the opportunity to buy our first home and for me to stay home. I always think of her- and thank her- for that.

  10. My parents were also frugal and left me enough to retire early. I'm so thankful to them - I'm thankful your mom left something for you, too. xoxo
